Loc's are ghey & I don't feel like rippin' apart my dash again

OEM H/U has line level ouputs. Okay, cool.

How about the dedicated amplified subwoofer output? I sold this a while back.

I typically run balanced, but it just hit me. I could have just tapped into the dedicated amplified subwoofer output.

But, I don't feel like rippin' apart my dash & running a multimeter across it.

Is the dedicated amplified subwoofer output balanced or unbalanced?

BTW: For those of you that are new to the 12V world, just becuz there's no RCA, doesn't mean it's speaker level. Car makers use proprietary wiring for everything so wouldn't use an RCA at build level.

Related, from an email convo with SVXdc:

Hi, I have an '05 Legacy GT wagon and I'm looking at adding an aftermarket amp. I'm looking at your forward subwoofer harness, but I have a few questions... I would assume the outputs are speaker level, correct? Are they full-range or filtered or EQ'd at all? Would I have to go up to the HU if I wanted front outputs as well?

Thanks!

My subwoofer "forward" harness connects to the factory T-harness (the end that plugs into the OEM sub, under the seat). Do you have that?

That OEM T-harness does carry speaker-level signals. It simply taps a pair of the HU's main speaker outputs. See this post for more info:

To connect to all 4 channels, the easiest place to do that is behind the HU. You can use my 14-pin "forward" and reverse harnesses ($26 for the pair). I can also make a combined 14-pin forward/reverse harness, similar to this:

That picture shows just the rear speaker wires left "broken". Price for one with both front and rear wires broken out is $32. You may also want the +12V Accessory line broken so you can tie into that for your amp remote turn-on.

Let me know if you have any other questions. To order, please send the information requested on that page (in the section "To place an order").

Thanks,
