planelazy
Quick ? about these... I got the CNT downpipe and SPT v2 exhaust, there is a slight leak.. even with 2 3" gaskets wedged between there... since my exhaust rubs up against my bumper, I'm going to put in some kartboy XL hangers to drop it a bit, but that will increase the gap between the cbe and dp.. IIRC The surface on the flange on the dp is smooth, I don't recall if the SPT has sa groove on it or not, but would jamming a donut gasket up there allow for a slight bend in the connection without leaking? m sprank
Adapter and donut gasket or hang your cans with the XL hangers and have a muffler shop remove and replace the 2.5" restriction.
bermo
The easiest thing to do is the 3" to 2.5" adapter that msprank sells. If it starts to leak around the flat 3" gasket try a bead of RTV around the outside.
planelazy
The adapter looks pretty thick.. I don't think I would have enough room to put it. I'm wanting to put in a resonator.. I should have searched first too LOL I found out what restiction Mike was talking about (I had a hunch it was the ypipes).. that would fix my fitment issue. I'll just take it to a shop and get new y-pipes made and hack up the mid and throw in a magnaflow resonator.
mustangendsley
So the spt cbe is 2.5 to mate up with the cnt DP?
m sprank
No. The CNT down pipe is 3". The SPT CBE is 2.5". If you want to mate them properly you need an adapter.
mustangendsley
So i need the greemspeed adapter and a donut gasket and a greemspeed flat gasket? or what do i accualy need? If i need a flat gasket will the greemspeed one that i used work or do i need a new one?
m sprank
Grimmspeed or generic adapter. I am not a fan of re-using gaskets. But it is your call. None of the adapters come with gaskets. The GS comes with hardware.
mustangendsley
So i need a grimmspeed adaptor, donut and flat gasket. Right?
m sprank
That would replace all the used gaskets with new, and should seal up the two pipes.
