Painting plastic inlet manifold

Recommended Posts

With the 4th gens having a black plastic inlet manifold, mostly hidden by the engine cover, has anyone bothered painting it?

Since I broke my engine and now have it rebuilt with an STi8 short engine I quite fancy doing mine to have it showing through a hint of STi style wrinkle red through the gaps and louvres...

Anyone done it? I know it's a lot of work to get a small bit of detail but I think it would set off the engine bay really nicely.

Any hints, tips or possible pitfalls etc?

Cheers guys

IMO way more trouble then what's it's worth.

Is this a show car, may be you could put some yellow and blue vacuum hoses on it too.

Sorry, it's just a car, worry about things that make it perform better.

305,600miles 5/2012 ej257 short block, 8/2011 installed VF52 turbo, @20.8psi, 280whp, 300ftlbs. (SOLD).  CHECK your oil, these cars use it.
