volodyalysak
LGT 2005, 149K miles EJ257 shortblock at 147K New LCA bushings, New front CV axles (cardone) New brakes Tranny oil flush only drain and fill My problem D-When cold, really bad vibration when in drive while brakes pressed D-When hot, still vibrates, but much less N- no vibration what so ever R - same as D when cold a lot of vibration P- no vibration what so ever In D or R with no accelerator pressed car moves forward or reverse, and i have to hold brakes firmly, i know it is suppose to move, but there should be minimum brake work to stop it. I recall having issues with gas pedal, i'we cleaned contacts back than, and no more engine codes, but with my romraider logger it shows, that without pressing gas pedal throttle plate opens to 7-8 %. I am thinking 3 possible causes: 1. CV Axles not beeing original, which may cause vibrations 2. Something loose or going out, (mounts, clutch in tranny etc) 3. My gas pedal assembly needs to be replaced/adjusted because it always stays at 7-8% at idle or in gear. Thank you guys for all input, i need to get this fixed, it drives me nuts. tdelker
This is classic 'bad' axle syndrome. Get an OEM replacement.
Gex
+1 for bad axle, fairly common on the cheap replacements.

Gex
Still got the old one? If its just a blown boot. Just reboot it. The kit is like $30.
rob-2
What kind of vibration? Is it in sync with the idle? Do the revs drop? Does the cabin shake? Does the idle get lumpy?
volodyalysak
1.=- vibration from the drivetrain, when engaged 2- at idle there is no vibration 3 my revs actually stay at 1000-1100 even when car is warmed up, don't know why 4. yes cabin shakes 5. At idle i can feel some rpm play 1000 to 1050 and back, sounds normal, but not sure \ Hope it helps

Once in either gear I would get an RPM drop until the motor recovers. While in gear and stopped, it feels like a miss fire and with the A/C on the cabin will give a shake when the compressor kicks in. I'm not sure about my axles but tomorrow I'm having it put up on a lift to check the following: - compression/leak down - motor mounts - axles
tdelker
To Volo: No money - then get a used axle from a junk yard. You can always reboot when the boot tears.

Max Capacity
What is your idle speed/rpm ? Is it to low ? I guees you have checked the fluid level in the tranny ? Have you had the tranny fluid changed when it was called for ? ClimberD may be your next bet, he's good with 5eat's, I'm just guessing. 305,600miles 5/2012 ej257 short block, 8/2011 installed VF52 turbo, @20.8psi, 280whp, 300ftlbs. (SOLD).
