suby0624
2005 lgt. Has a 2 yr old Rad in it. I first took it to a local shop and they did a regular flush which did nothing my cool and looked liked rust. But after they did that it would not go above 3/4 on the temp gauge. So I took it to another shop that deals with subies about 10 miles away never hit the red never even went over 3/4 then. The heat was blowing very hot and then after they flushed out every component of the cooling system put a 160 degree t-stat in still overheating. Top Rad hose gets hot and hard. I think the water pump is working because I was getting hot heat and never overheated and I don't see any leaks near the hg. Do you think it could be air bound. The needle hits red before the t-stat housing gets up to 160. Could it be a defective t-stat? Need help. Car has about 100k about 40k on the short block. Ultrasounddude
My son had this problem and turned out to be catted down pipe clogged with particles. Got a new high flow catted DP, problem solved.
