I DO NOT MAKE THESE ANYMORE !

For historical purposes I am keeping this old thread alive. This is the original thread where I gauged interest in the product.

Front ISO view:

Shows how the default floor level is lowered to accomodate the gauges. Also shows the knotches on each end for the tabs to snap into. Large cut-outs on each side should sit snug with the cubby door 'hinges'.

Rear ISO view:

Shows the mounting tab, which should match up with a mounting hole on the rear of the display unit.

PICTURES:

NOTE - the rear mounting tab is removed for pictures. This will not be removable on the final product, rather it will be rigid.

Close-up giving texture detail, and 'exact-ness' detail. If you look at your cubby, everything is the same... which can also be seen below.

The tabs are almost an exact match, including the small lip on the front edge. Sorry for the bad picture.

Rear mounting tab. This will be permenatly attached to the pod, but to save time I had it printed seperatly for now just for pictures.

Gauges mounted.....

UPDATE -

Mounted in my car first try !!! Door closed no problem with plenty of clearance!!! It snaped right into place just like the cubby bottom would, everything lined up with plenty of clearance for the door hinge. A few minor changes and this will be perfect! I took tons of pics but I have to get on the road. I hope to post the pictures remotely tonight.

Yes I will offer a singe version, it can be on either the left or right side, or dead center.

The price will be right..... details to come.

INSTALLED PICTURES:

Installs in just minutes. No cutting, no glue, snaps right in. Can be sanded and painted, or wrapped in vinyl. In the car, the panel is in a shadow and you cannot even see the texture on the surface. I might not even do anything to mine... it looks good as it is.

I have Unigraphics, Ideas, etc etc at my disposal. If you have the ability to print things in 3-D... you better have the software! I designed this part fully in IDEAS just because I can remote into the IDEAS server from home via VPN.

I have many more pictures showing how everything lines up.... even the thin tab on the front tucks under the trim as it should. I was very happy.

Right now the gauges face straight out, but the cubby is at an angle naturally, so they somewhat face the driver. I might attempt to add a slight angle if I have the space to do so. I have plenty of space in front of the gauges to accomodate the angle and still allow the door to close, but I need room behind the panel as well for the depth of the gauges. A slight angle should not be an issue.

I can hit 'Print' and have these ready in just hours. That is the best part. But the machine time is expensive, and I have to pay for materials. I have already spent a good amount printing various things for early testing.... thus why my first full pod fit so well. My company still bills me individually for the use becuase they have to, especially since I will sell these. We mostly protoype bottles with it (I work for a package development company as an engineer).

I would also like to add I am on a remote computer that has a faulty mouse. Therefore everything I have done was with Alt and Tab. This includes loading webpages, loging in, replies, etc. I am quite proud I managed to figure it out.
