Defi triple guage pack install-2005

So bought a DEFI triple gauge pack for my 2005 LGT. Same as the STi just didn't want a little boost gauge so wet with the standard DEFI triple pack. I have the instructions with the Japanparts kits and one from DEFI but I need clearer instructions. There are no picture instructions that I can find on this forum and if there was/is the photos are no longer good.

I have already broke the screw insert for the top of the vents, so don't want to break anything else.

Maybe I have the wrong or early upper center console piece. Pictures to come

Here are the instructions for the STI turbo gauge pack

Here you can see the piece I broke and how it interfers with one another

Where my finger is, you can see there is a clip on the vent instead of the insert as well as where the center piece can be screwed in. Mine does not have that.

STI turbo gauge pack: H0010AG000/H0010AG100:Legacy/Outback turbo model

(2005-)

The one I bought

H0017AG920/H0017AG926

No other info in regards to model

I am wondering if there is actually a difference in the brackets. Though they look the same on both manuals, maybe they are slightly different. The STi manual never shows the triple pack being installed. The manual I have does show it.

Here you can see where it shows to install the anchor plates but I dont have the place to install them.

I was able to fix the issue with the face plate not seating into the vent face. Took a dremel to it.

So the lower holes for the bracket are there as shown in the photo but the upper ones are not.

Here you can see the issue. Doesnt sit flush and there is a gap

Looks like the brackets in the STi kit would have been what you want (they don't have the upper mounting hole). Is the issue the bracket is leaning too far forward because there is no upper attachment point? Or is it just too low in the opening? If it's the former, you'll probably need to fabricate something - if it's the latter, if you slot the holes in the bracket, you should be able to raise it up a bit (I'd add lockwashers if you do that so that the bracket doesn't slide down with vibration during driving)

USDM and JDM interiors are not necessarily the same, even if they look similar (ran into that with my 5th gen and the trim around the shifter)

Also - the link in your first post is broken (missing a colon).

I was thinking just modifying the holes you are using now and making them into slots to allow you to raise the bracket a little bit (basically, just elongating the holes) - glad to hear you got it sorted out!
