bagtowner34
Hi. New around here and have a '92 SVX with the 5MT from a 91 legacy SS turbo. Going thru a clutch install and want to put a WRX (2002-2004) flywheel part number 12342AA071 in it. I think it will work, but not sure. Any thoughts/advice? monkeyposeur
I wish I could give you a definitive answer. That being said from what I understand a wrx flywheel will work on a 22T/turbo leggy trans. I am working on a 22T swap for my second gen and I will be using the 02 wrx flywheel/clutch using a '92 turbo leggy 5mt. You may want to ask the guys on bbslegacycentral to confirm as well as check out the SVX forum. But I would guess that it would work no problem. trevorno
I used the clutch from an 02 wrx on my '94 SS. I've been driving it and have no issues. not sure about the flywheel though.
bagtowner34
Exedy clutch and 2004 WRX flywheel installed without problems amid working flawlessly. Thanks for all the advice!
pleaidestar
Good to know..nice work, is the wrx oem flywheel any different as in weight or diameter opposed to the standard legacy flywheel?
USLiberty
5spd SVX? That's badass! Pictures please! I hear the 5spd clutches work on 6speeds also, but the clutch contact arear is slightly larger on the 6spd.
bagtowner34
Don't know if the WRX flywheel was much lighter, they felt about the same in my hands. The main thing I was going for was a new flywheel, and to be 100% sure the Exedy clutch would fit. The old flywheel had already been resurfaced once, so I figured "go big or stay home". Very happy with the results. With Motul300 and Redline Lightweight Shockproof in the old Leggy gearbox, it shifts like butter!
USLiberty
That is nice and clean! Wheels and color look good. They should of given the svx a 5spd from the factory, the car would have been more popular.
pleaidestar
Yup, I like them, more so the motor..they got a wide stance and wheelbase. I bet converted to rwd they would be a blast to drift in.
