horn replacement

Recommended Posts

Alright everyone. I just had a close call with someone running a stop sign and coming within inches of smashing into me. i slammed on my brakes leaving rubber skids on the pavement, and laid on my horn. the lady didn't even flinch or look my direction to see what was happening. she couldn't have cared less that she had run the sign and was about to be annihilated by my car. I want to know if anyone has replaced their horn with a louder, larger air horn style horn. When i lay on my horn, i want the other person to be like "OH S***, i'm about to be hit by a semi truck!"

"The" horn for subaru people. I run two like most people, had four on my car. While others run 6-8 of these on their cars.

Also recommend Supertones. Had a pair in my Impreza and will be putting a set in my Legacy. at 118db, the 2 will be enough. I vaguely remember reading that more horns doesn't necessarily equal louder horns and I have no idea who would actually shove 8 of these things into their grille.

I am rocking the hella horns and they are sweet. When I do use them, people notice.

I made my own bracket(foot long 1" strapping from Home Depot) and my own harness. In retrospect, I would have just bought the harness from subimods but I did save about $30 building my own. Was just like 30 degrees F when I installed them and was hard to cut the wire!
