spinny2559
I have an 08 Legacy and I may buy these rims off a friend, they are 18 x 8.5. Is that too wide for my car? Also what would be some decent all season tires for them that won't cost me a fortune? thanks
tingtang
http://legacygt.com/forums/showthread.php?t=4426 and youll probably have to run 245/35... which are gonna cost like 200 per tire... and u better make sure the offset is right or your gonna have clearance issues... spinny2559
I have to say, I don't know what many of these numbers stand for. I have an 08 Legacy se, no turbo, nothing fancy, and I just want these rims to add a little snaz to my car.
rs6er
I have 18 x 8.5 on my Spec B. They are fine. I would get (and did) 235/40/18 tires.

terrangama
sorry if i mistook your last post about not understanding the numbers but: offset refers to how far the wheel protrudes out, the lower the offset the further it protrudes. The link tingtang has above will tell you what offset 8.5" wheels will allow the numbers 245/35/18 refers to tire size. again the link tingtang posted above will tell you what tire sizes will work with the size rim you get. Here is a link that will break it down even further. http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tiretech/techpage.jsp?techid=
phoenix96
My 18x8.5 wheels with +48mm offset and 245/35R18 tires caused some fender rubbing in the rear. Rolling the fenders took care of it. No problem that I can tell from the front (although the fronts are not even close to flush with the fender - they stick out noticeably). phoenix96 2006 Legacy GT Ltd · 2011 Outback 3.6R Ltd · 1992 SVX 2006 Outback 3.0R VDC · 2009 Forester 2.5X 2002 Outback VDC · 1996 Outback 2.5L · 1986 GL-
spinny2559
If they stick out that much more, maybe I would want to stray from them. I have some issues with curb bite. :/
Th3Franz
Make sure you closely check the offset so there are no fitment issues. -Franz The end of a Legacy http://www.youtube.com/th3franz

tingtang
Exactly what I have on my unlimited. That's actually what I wanted to go with... Except 18x8 235/40/18 but according to that link I posted it said might need fender rolling??? Did u guys have to roll the fenders?? My car is lowered some... I don't mind raising it up some though... I just don't want gaps between my tire and wheel well
spinny2559
Well I am looking at 225-45-18 tires, and 18 x 8.5 2.5" Lip privat wheels. Wonder if I will have any issues.
