Hey everyone,

My brother curbed his forrester pretty bad and is looking for a shop in the Rowland Heights area. Unfortunately he's in the middle of a move + new job so he doesn't have time to go to IPT.

It looks like he bent his control arm + anything else that can happen after hitting a curb too fast while turning.

Any other local recommendations where he can go? Most likely will be an insurance claim.

Thanks for the recommendation. Very sorry to hear about the Forester. Wish I knew someone in that area to recommend to you.

^ huh? The dyno? Been up and running for months now. Bill Knose of Delicious Tuning has been tuning cars on the dyno every day since 10/2. 3 more scheduled for tomorrow.

Lol at Michael. I dont refer to it as IPT mainly because I dont want to get sued by Carlisle rubber company (owner of ITP tires).

had a GREAT experience with these guys. They offered to save me money, took me under the car to show me everything, didn't care that I had aftermarket suspension and gave me a ride home.

one of the mechanics has an STI and knows all about Subarus

Welcome to the forum.

Just a note, you do realize you can buy your Yelp reviews right? Their sales team calls once a week touting how much business the reviews will make you and offering packages to raise your review ratings. The more you pay, the better you appear. You can even pay to have poor reviews removed.

Thanks!

Did not realize that Yelp was plagued by fake reviews! Not really surprised though as I've seen many popular people on social media buy views and followers all the time.

I don't think their reviews are bought though because word on the street is that they're pretty good. Various people at several meets I've been to have said they're good. Having picked my car up now I'd give them 4 stars. 1 star off for not really keeping me updated and calling back when they said they would. I had to call every time. Other than that, their prices seem fair based on their experience level with Subarus. One of few good Subaru shops in Socal.

I've fielded numerous sales calls from Yelp for a company I help and was never offered anything like this. I don't doubt that they've done it in the past and that some sales people still do it, but my guess is that they are the exception, not the rule. The subject company eventually became an advertiser and still has not been offered any review manipulation.

I'm sure there's plenty of fake reviews out there, but I bet the honest reviews far outnumber the fake.

No, it is SOP for Yelp. In fact they did not do it in the "past" and have ramped it up as Yelp became more "popular". It is a business. It must make money. The more you pay, the more you can manipulate. It is very easy to delete bad reviews as long as you have a paying account. It is somewhat funny because they claim you will make over $1250 in sales for each good review. They have a whole matrix they use to "boost" the value of their offerings. Most online review sites are the same. The more you pay, the better you can look.

Do all the Subie that roll through the shop on a daily basis count for sightings? LOL.

I'm just sharing my experience with them over the course of a couple years and different sales people/account reps and they've never offered any manipulation. I know that all the reviews on my business are legit since we know each person that posted a review. Two thirds of our reviews have been filtered by Yelp using whatever secret algorithm they've developed, so it certainly looks like they make an effort to catch the b.s. and there are a bunch of reviews that they could offer to me in return for additional advertising money, but haven't. In the end, I'd take yelp review data over no data.
