thevencils
I'm looking into buying my first Subaru. It's a 2010 Legacy 2.5i and I'm in love with everything about it... everything except the mileage: 98200. It's also apparently been in an accident and has been repaired. I got it checked out by my mechanic and he said that I should keep up my search. But again, I love this car AND it's well within my price range (topping out at $13k). My biggest concern is with how high the mileage is, should I get an extended warranty? If so, where should I get it from? Or should I even get the car at all? I'd love any kind of help and advice that you can offer!
golunnova
High mileage and has been in an accident? My advice is to avoid it if you can.
Magic Marker
I would stay away. You can buy a better condition car for $13k. That is way too high mileage wise and an accident.... meh... Keep looking. Even your mechanic said move on, so why are you still contemplating it? 2011 Volvo S60T6 & 2013 Volvo XC60T6 Polestar
AZP Installs
I agree with hese guys. Move on. The only extended warranty worth anything is the Subaru added security warranty and that will only cover up to 100k miles. Now if you could get it for $9k, then it might be worth the risk but at $13k, pass. -mike http://www.pbase.com/paisan/image/91072632.jpghttp://www.pbase.com/paisan/image/141039922.jpg http://www.pbase.com/paisan/image/133406601.jpg http://upload.pbase.com/image/137566671.jpg 11+ Years Maintaining, Modifying and Educating TriState Subaru Enthusiasts. BXR4T
Listen to the above posts AND your mechanic. Pass on the car.
thevencils
Would it change anyone's mind if I said that the price was $9k? I mean, for the price, it's a lovely car... aside from the high miles and possible past accident. You all would know better than I would, but please check it out on the website. It does have 98k miles and not 91k. http://www.btmci.com/2010_Subaru_Legacy_135631333.veh

halwith
unless they have pictures of the accident damage and you have it inspected by a reputable body shop to verify the integrity of the repairs i really wouldnt bother. i somehow think you already made your mind though , so if you do get it please keep us updated on any horror stories that develope. p.s. it may shake at 70mph or so, if it does that is normal and not a result of the accident damage.... thevencils
Actually I think you all really know best and we're going to keep shopping around. Hopefully we'll find a Legacy that doesn't sound like such a money pit! Thanks for all of the help!
jandreaur
buy something with dark seats - the black is a nice color but those tan seats are disgusting and look to be a pain in the ass to keep clean
