98LGTLover
I remember this being talked about before but I can't find where it was. What do I need to do to run this tire size on rims that are 17x7.5 with an offset of 45?
I Donated broknindarkagain Posted May 19, 2011 I Donated Share Posted May 19, 2011 Isnt the stock offset close to 45? 225s may be a tad bit wide and might scrub under hard cornering. I think you would be a bit safer with 215s -broknindarkagain My Current Project - Click Here COME AND TAKE IT "The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing." WESTcoast
stock offset for our 16s is +55 alot of aftermarket rims are around 42-48. You should be ok just roll your fenders and you will definitely be able to fit a 225 no problem. I have a set of 18x7.5s with 225/40 and with my fenders rolled never had a problem. I also tried out 17x8s with 225/45 and only had a problem rubbing at full lock due to low offset Get your fenders rolled and you will be all goood! I Donated broknindarkagain Posted May 19, 2011 I Donated Share Posted May 19, 2011 My 18s have 235/40 and my car is lowered considerably. They don't scrub unless I corner REALLY hard -broknindarkagain My Current Project - Click Here COME AND TAKE IT "The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing." I Donated broknindarkagain Posted May 19, 2011 I Donated Share Posted May 19, 2011 I don't know to be honest with you. It was either 57 or 45. These are my wheels http://www.workwheelsusa.com/product.php?category=26&wheel=72 However, I do have all 4 of my fenders rolled. -broknindarkagain My Current Project - Click Here COME AND TAKE IT "The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing." WESTcoast
hey now i know what car you have!!!! your the guy off of sl-i ahhh HAAAA makes since now lol. It it was +45 you wouldn't have any problem with rubbing unless like you said under hard cornering. +57 i would of like to know how to modified everything to get them under there. haha I recently bought some rubber for the stockies and went from 205/55 to 215/55. Im rubbing at full lock against the fender lining. I heart those rims my friend never sell those!
I Donated broknindarkagain Posted May 19, 2011 I Donated Share Posted May 19, 2011 I think my rock hard suspension helps prevent scrubbing as well. My car has almost no body roll. I as well run a VERY aggressive alignment (-3 camber all the way around) Yeah this is me http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v287/broknindarkagain/LegacySTI/IMAG1110.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v287/broknindarkagain/LegacySTI/IMAG1083.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v287/broknindarkagain/LegacySTI/IMAG1044.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v287/broknindarkagain/LegacySTI/198030_10150131042658326_605068325_6470786_170040_n.jpg -broknindarkagain My Current Project - Click Here COME AND TAKE IT "The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing." 98LGTLover
How much would they rub if I were to not roll my fenders?
I Donated broknindarkagain Posted May 20, 2011 I Donated Share Posted May 20, 2011 I heart those rims my friend never sell those! They are for sale for the right price. But the right price is definatly NOT cheap lol. Thats $3600 worth of rims and tires (potenza re01s) my car is sitting on. I would let them go for $3200 for the set of rims and tires. -broknindarkagain My Current Project - Click Here COME AND TAKE IT "The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing." Zues Marine
dude rolling your fenders is cake.... just take your time with a baseballbat and a heat gun and youll do good
98LGTLover
I would probably see if my dad's work has a fender roller, since he works at a body shop, but I'm just curious as to how much they would rub without rolling the fenders.
