bbarnhill
http://www.bradbarnhill.com/images/virtualdyno/virtualdyno.png Here is the release of the full version of the standalone HP/TQ graphing application that reads Evoscan logs, and doesnt require Excel or copy and pasting your data. The interface is pretty self explanatory. You can drag your CSV files to the panel on the left, then enter the appropriate data in the box that appears and your graph should appear. There are several graph options and those can be accessed from the menu at the top. There are only a few cars in the data file as of the initial release but as soon as a few more people test it and get me data on other vehicles I will add more. The link to the page is http://www.bradbarnhill.com/projects/VirtualDyno/ http://www.bradbarnhill.com/images/virtualdyno/VirtualDyno_screenshot_medium.png Click Here to download the latest version Feel free to let me know what you think and suggestions on improvements. I know I am opening myself up to a lot of criticism but thats the only way to make this app better. Thanks to all of you that have helped support this application through development and to all of those who have waited patiently for it. {thumbup} Many thanks to some who have contributed over and over to its development: Mellon Racing Boosted Tuning Also if you would like to donate to the project feel free. I dont require payment as I rely on donations to keep the project alive. If you are a tuner please consider who keeps you in business and who develops software to support you. bmx045
Excellent job! I appreciate the work you do to make log plotting possible, aside from airboy. Since this is a legacy forum, is there a way you can add the 5EAT in with the rest of them. I know since the TC delayed lockup causes weird numbers...we still use the program for pre/post tunes and modifications.... 5speed automatic Sportshift 1st 3.540 2nd 2.264 3rd 1.471 4th 1.0 5th 0.834 final reduction 3.083 that's for the 2008 USDM LGT 5EAT Here you go: <?xml version="1.0" standalone="yes"?> <CarDataset xmlns="http://tempuri.org/CarDataset.xsd"> <CarParameters> <CarMake>Subaru</CarMake> <CarModel>Legacy</CarModel> <CarSubModel>2.5 GT</CarSubModel> <StartYear>2008</StartYear> <EndYear>2009</EndYear> <Weight>3330</Weight> <TransTypeAuto>true</TransTypeAuto> <TransGear3>1.471</TransGear3> <TransGear4>1.0</TransGear4> <FinalGearRatio>3.083</FinalGearRatio> <DragCoefficient>0.29</DragCoefficient> <FrontalArea>22.56</FrontalArea> <TireDiameter>24.62</TireDiameter> </CarParameters> </CarDataset>

bmx045
Thanks! just to let you know, when I opened virtualdyno up it checked for definitions and all but it did not add the car. I uninstalled and reinstalled the software and now it's there.
bbarnhill
Weird ... updating of the car definitions works on all the machines Ive tested it on (moms XP machine, my win 7 desktop and laptop, the wifes win 7 laptop, dads windows vista machine ... and other betas). Again ... weird ... maybe it had a hiccup connecting to the server or something to download it ... *shrug*.
bmx045
Potentially, I was waiting for it to say 1 new definition available, or something. I closed and reopened the prog a couple times and it still didn't catch. Who knows. No if I could only find my logs. http://www.newenglandsubarus.com/forums/images/smilies/katie.gif
bbarnhill
I may add something that shows in the program for a little longer when columns were updated. ( I cant tell how many columns were update just because of the way it is setup, but I can tell that a new version of the file was downloaded. blongo804
We need an 2005-2009 GT Auto option! For this graph I used the '08-09 auto GT option although I have an '05. Not sure how much I like this graph LOL. http://i29.photobucket.com/albums/c288/TheOne9110/Revision4.jpg
bmx045
Blongo, that's how AT curves look. You read the highest point after the torque converter has locked up- even then, a real dyno will read different peak numbers after tc lockup. Only use this for before/after mods and stages. I also noticed you didn't put an occupant weight number in, so your total weight is more than 3330 (which will incr your hp/tq #'s). Also correct for temperature. blongo804
YourConfused, sorry to shoot your dreams down but I doubt we have anywhere close to 500lbft. of torque. rao
Pretty neat. Here is the Virtual Dyno using the data log from the real dyno. I like the simulated dyno better than the real one http://img688.imageshack.us/img688/5033/virtualdyno.jpg http://img155.imageshack.us/img155/9941/20110420dynopull1.jpg Rob IF YOU CARE ABOUT YOUR CAR YOU SHOULD NEVER DRIVE IT

bmx045
I thought maybe at one point you could take the average between the highest and lowest, but apparently you can't
bbarnhill
The problem with the graph is that the torque converter isnt locked up yet and causes the initial spike. Its the same as if they clutch slips. I cant take slipping in the drive systems into account in the program so the users must realize when thats what is happening. Most automatics are going to do this. BMX: what do you mean take the average of the highest and lowest?
bmx045
What I meant was, to come to a somewhat real-world number. I've yet to get dyno'ed....I'm curious to see if the average between the highest point and lowest point on VD comes close to what the dyno reads. The map I have on my car dyno'ed 270/350 on an identical LGT with a 5EAT. My highest point after TC lockup is like 235 :/ here's the dyno perspective- http://brentuning.com/blog/2010/12/27/2007-legacy-gt-5eat-bt-custom-tune-vs-competitors-tune/
bbarnhill
you can NOT average the highest point (where the TC wasnt not locked) and the actual highest point afterwards (or lowest for that matter) and get a realistic number at all. The point with the TC not locked is complete garbage as far as numbers go. Ask any tuner. There is absolutely no real value that can be attained from that section of the graph. Use the RPM trimming to get rid of that section of the graph and dont even look at it.
