scoobydoo73
So I just towed this baby home last weekend. It's a 92 Legacy wagon, awd converted, forester suspension, wrx wheels, 99OBS front brakes and seats, and 04 wrx rear brakes. Have to get it running, fix the cracked winshield, and see if there's any way in heck i can get it through a virginia state inspection. After that, who knows, i can come up with all kinds of fun ideas for this beast. I defenitely think it needs a custom tailgate and i'll probably get a friend of mine to seam weld the angle iron and back doors. I'll post progress as it happens but may be a few weeks as i have to move and get a house rented out so i'm not so broke.

1055
1055 i cant believe you sold that. Stopped running while the legacy was under the knife. It was a great car, but with the amount of abuse its seen, I couldn't keep relying on it as a daily driver.
Dead Mr.
I wanted to do that to a forester but I didn't have enough time before my move. This was my concept.. http://i186.photobucket.com/albums/x223/badwagon/Baja%20Foz/BAJAFOZCONCEPT_zpsca694683.jpg I wish I had time to have built it this way but I don't. scoobydoo73
I am guilty of building this... Enjoy. http://s400.photobucket.com/user/tacoornot/library/the%20z/project%20truck?sort=3&src=wap Thanks for the link to the build pics. It was good to see the work on the angle iron and doors. I was going to have a guy at work possibly seam weld the entire rear door and angle iron piece. Is that brush guard adapted from another application or is it 100 percent custom, that is what i need back on the car. I finally tore into the motor today, timing marks were off, pulled the front cover, one of the belt idler pulleys completely ripped itself apart. http://i299.photobucket.com/albums/mm311/scoobydoo731/2013-05-24110309_zps52ec975d.jpg[/img] Ordered a new belt kit with all pulleys, oil pump seal, cam seals. Going to check on a new timing cover and oil pan at pick and pull half price sale.

scoobydoo73
The cruck is being difficult. Pulled the inner crank gear and oil pump today, at which point i realized the oil pump seal i had was not going to fit in my oil pump. Also the crank sensor was completely jammed in the pump, resulting in a total desctruction of the sensor in order to remove it. Good thing they are only 150 bucks....crap. I also forgot to get the oil pump o-ring anyway so maybe by next weekend i'll have it running.

scoobydoo73
Sorry none. I've got the parts together, but time has not been on my side. There is a four day weekend coming up. I also am prepping the other wagon to sell to free up a little cash.

scoobydoo73
I got all the timing put together and charged the battery but still not getting it to start. I threw some fuel down the throttle body and get nothing when trying to start it, just cranks with no fire. I'll have to start tracking down the issue later this week. 1055
Interesting.. you're sure its not 180* out? Its non interference.. also a chance the cylinders are washed down. Maybe a little oil through the spark plug tube to bring compression back up?
scoobydoo73
I was looking at my pictures i took of the timing today, and realized that when i removed the crank pulley i broke off one of the teeth which i think is how the crank sensor gets it's readings. The timing belt was still off on this pic, i corrected afterward.
