Not a fan of the new grill on the Legacy.

Me neither. At least a JDM swap now requires only the hood, based on images alone. The cloth seats seem a lot better, too.

Those gauges may not be electroluminescent, but they're a lot better than the outgoing ones. Should make for an interesting retrofit...

Wow it still has that stupid MPG gauge where the hot/cold should be. The new bumper is an improvement over the 12 but not by much it's still fugly. The rear ac vents are a nice touch though. The 5th gen still looks cheap.

Is that a sub in the rear deck? I have no idea if this is new because I haven't paid attention.

They even have a raised version that's going to be sold now:

(chrome on the side-skirts - I'm going to throw up)

A higher-riding version of the Subaru Liberty sedan will join the Australian line-up later this year, adding extra versatility to the all-wheel-drive mid-sized range.

The new Liberty variant sits 60mm higher than the standard sedan and is 70mm higher at the hip point. Its minimum ground clearance of 210mm makes it just 3mm lower than the Outback and 10mm lower than the Forester and XV.

Subaru Australia managing director Nick Senior said our market and China would be the only two regions in the world to get the high-riding model, a decision influenced by the two countries’ unique road conditions.

“It is still an enlightening statistic that around 60 per cent of our roads are unsealed,” Senior said.

“We see its main market to be in rural areas, but it will also be ideal for those with tricky driveways, those who travel with trailers and caravans, or just those who want a sedan where you can sit a bit higher.”

And a Liberty Exiga model that has its own styling:

nope

I knew that. I was referring to the gauges of the lesser trim levels. While they aren't electroluminescent, they look much better than the outgoing ones.

Wow it still has that stupid MPG gauge where the hot/cold should be.

Limited trims get a temp gauge, and an MPG readout in that ugly-arse info cluster between the tach and the speedometer. I'm pretty sure the MPG gauge is the most useless feature in the 2010+ models. I much prefer the setup in the 4th gen.

That seems like a modern take on the Outback sedan. Can't say I'm a fan of that particular one...

I wish they'd bring the center mounted e-brake switch over here... I bet it shows up in 2014...

I actually like the old gauges, but the new non-EL look pretty clean, too. The new EL gauges in the limiteds have that screen in the middle... I suppose that's where things are going, but I prefer a simple LCD - not sure what they did with the open-door light - there are two of them, but they don't appear to indicate which door is actually open, just that one is open...

The icon in the display seems to indicate which door.

But I would like to see it in reality to get a better opinion if I like it or not. Hopefully it comes at the same time as the diesel gets the CVT.
