czei
This is my '91 Legacy L customized for rallycross in NC. As you can see at the end of video, this car can take fastest time of the day against a field of customized WRX, STi, and 2.5RS cars. In the dirt on a tight rallycross course a naturally aspirated car has an advantage because of the direct control between the throttle and the wheels, especially with the lighter flywheel and high-flow fuel pump. [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=giX5stYxWCM]the video[/ame] Here's a list of the mods: * STi struts/springs (used, of course) * Clearance adjusted upward for off road racing, camber adjusted by both camber bolts and strut slotting. * Heavy duty skid plate * Stage 2 clutch and lightweight flywheel * Engine upgraded from 2.2 to 2001 2.5 DOHC. (The old engine was running great at 240,000 miles, I just wanted more power.) * Interior has been almost completely gutted, including removal of rear windows, trunk, etc. * Mechanical seatbelts replaced by 4-point harness * Improvised air intake to keep out dirt. * WRX seats * Upgraded anti-sway bars * High flow fuel pump * Air scoop to increase air pressure in the cabin and blow out dirt Its been in more than 60 races, has 250,000 miles on it and yet has barely needed any maintenance. A couple of rear suspension bushings and a wheel bearing is all its needed besides basic maintenance. http://farm5.staticflickr.com/4093/4879336578_cbb84c0513.jpg
