Gunk in the door jams?

Recommended Posts

How many have taken the time to get that it off? I finally did, and I'm sure no one but me will ever notice, but man does it make a differeance in my day not having to look at that crap.

It was one of the first things I did. :) It makes a big impression for anyone who know's it used to be there. You should have seen the door jambs in my Acura when it was cleaned up for show. You could eat off of them.

I just use degreaser and tooth brushes when I clean door jambs. The bristles on the tooth brush are usually soft enough not to wreck the paint. Not that it matters on the door jambs anyway, but I like to not cause damage whenever possible.

It was one of the first things I did.

ditto.

Used goo gone and followed w/ a coat of wax.

Makes it easier to clean in the future.

Now I just wipe it down w/ a lightly damp rag every time I wash.

Turtle Wax Bug and tar remover and a soft tooth brush using little to no pressure. It came off pretty easy for me.

It was the first thing I wanted to do... but other toys needed attention. This past saturday was just to nice in MD to not do some detail work.

So....just what do you use as lube on the hinges and other ugly moving parts that doesn't attract dirt and ooze all over your clean jambs?

"Lube" and "ugly moving parts"...this is going to get some interesting replys.

It is still ugly.
