busabusa
So the Audi S4 crowd has figured out that the Brembo's that come stock on the Touareg's and Cayenne's fit their cars very easily. Curious if this is an option for us Legacy owners or is this a non-starter. f1anatic
Where did you come up with the idea that VAG brakes fit a Subaru car ? Why don't you look into getting STI brakes on your car...VAG to VAG Subaru to Subaru
urfsin
If you search over on Nasioc, you can find a thread where some guy fitted Evo Brembo's to a Subie without much hassle. The reason he did this is because the Evo Brembo's are cheaper. Slide It Sideways
busabusa
Figured Brembos are Brembos, if you get the right bracket machined then it might work. And yes, this is a potentially cheaper entry. Adventures in Turbomachinery

naimouasta
someone needs to make brackets for these! they would make a lot of money! the last litchfield type25 sti had porsche 6pot brakes, its doable. according to what i read these touareg brakes are very similar, except without all the bling. http://www.type-25.co.uk/images/content/large/prices_6.jpg

Bbc84
I think its possible, this was posted in the SWP thread from mrroboto of Hong Kong. The brakes are actually Brembo OEM bought directly from Brembo, the same model as the ones in a Porsche Cayenne Turbo (6+4). They only come in Silver, Black and Red, so I repainted them yellow, naturally. Just a custom made bridge for the caliper, and a custom made hub for the disk. Not expensive to get done out here, and the quality is decent. I so want those on my white sedan But I got the less cool orange brembos from a STI instead. Maybe next time I go to Hong Kong ill sneak some custom brackets and rotors back lol http://i630.photobucket.com/albums/uu29/mrrobotnik/postbrembo02.jpg http://i630.photobucket.com/albums/uu29/mrrobotnik/postbrembo01.jpg
AZP Installs
You guys do realize that by putting a bracket onto the brembos it detracts a portion of the actual braking ability due to flex in the bracket. Part of the great thing of monoblock 2-sided pistoned calipers that bolt DIRECTLY to the knuckle is that they are more rigid than bracketed ones. I have STi Brembos on my LGT Wagon and love em. -mike
pierce88
Subscribe. I want those 6-pot porsche calipers. Could care less about the increased breaking. Thats straight pimpin... -Pierce

AZP Installs
I'm just saying brackets defeat a good portion of the benefits of a mono-block caliper. -mike
Mindspin311
Why not just make the bracket out of a stiff material? No one said they would be made out of rubber.
btlegacy
I agree with AZP comment regarding brackets but for those who are looking to try this out I found this New Porsche 6 piston calipers for around $300 http://img514.imageshack.us/img514/2176/porschecaliper.jpg 2005 Legacy GT 5MT Buy my stuff Here So I can build my 6.0L V8 Legacy GT Here

Volleyball
I don't think brackets would be all that bad. The calipers are more than enough on a subaru. Hope your tires are up to the challenge. Maybe someone could pm the guy in Hong Kong and see if he would email you the cnc data file so they could be duplicated easily
Mindspin311
What material are the calipers made of? Aluminum, steel? Just make a bracket out of a stiffer material and stronger fasteners. Problem solved.
