seafoam? ok to use in lgts?

Recommended Posts

love it! using it for years on all sorts of projects. The liquid and the spray version are fantastic. The GM 3800 crowd were i came from really uses this stuff like "duct tape" fixes anything.

Ive used it for everything from freeing seized RC motors, to regular fuel treatment for my families vehicles.

I also treated my LGT through the BPV line sucking it in slowly at approx 2k rpm. I find it best to pour the seafoam into a wide shallow tupper-ware so that i can dip the hose into it and meter exactly how much i suck up throughout the treatment.

For the oil, just use the Subaru motor flush or Gunk motor flush, just don't drive the car when it's in there.

Warm up the engine for 5 minutes and change the oil.

I have dumped Seafoam in the gas tank, once too.

FWIW, on Jul 9 05 I used a can of Gunk motor flush when the car had 28,100 miles, then Nov 28 06 at 63,153 miles, then Aug 15 09 at 111,770 miles again on Oct 31 09 at 119,311 miles, then on Mar 17 11 at 141,800 after the P0011 and P0021 CEL.

I replaced the turbo at 142,200 miles

Used the Subaru flush at 144,300 Oct 1, 11

I haven't done it again. The new ej257 has about 16,000 miles on it. I replaced the short block because of oil usage, the bearings were quiet.
