2006 SpecB
My spec B is hitting bumps like there is no suspension, smashing like there is no tomorrow, I am guessing they are simply worn out? I have about 93k on the car and am very meticulous with this car, service records and frankly anyone who touches it. So I am looking to either replace the bilsteins with the same ones or send these out to get rebuilt. Here is the problem, where do I go to have the suspension removed and have the car sit for 5-6 weeks while Bilstein rebuilds them? Should I just buy new ones? I dont want the Bilstein HDs as i have not read great things about them and they appear to sit a lot higher than stock, I am just looking for stock Spec B height and performance. Any suggestions? What should I do? Where should I go? I am located in Connecticut. Thanks
whitetiger
buy stock shocks ahead of time. when they come in, have a shop install them or do it yourself. they are not worth the rebuild unless you want to have them revalved for stiffer springs or racing, which you said you dont want. 2006 SpecB
Thanks, any idea where I can buy the stock ones? I went to bilstein.com and linked out to some of the online vendors they have there, but none seem to carry the stock shocks, only the HD ones? AZP Installs
Where in CT are you? I would say either get stock replacements or do a redo and move to Konis, which wouldn't be inexpensive, but well worth the results in our opinion. -Mike Paisan http://www.pbase.com/paisan/image/91072632.jpg http://www.pbase.com/paisan/image/145749898/original.jpg http://www.pbase.com/paisan/image/133406601.jpg http://www.whiteline.com.au/images/logos/perf1.jpg 11+ Years Maintaining, Modifying and Educating TriState Subaru Enthusiasts.
