stevenva
Like the title says. My new H&R sport springs arrived and I'm wondering if I need to get new rubber spring isolators for them before the install. They come in the box as plain, dark-grey painted springs with no isolation. I've seen photos of other brands that look like they come coated with some vinyl on the ends and wondered if that was for noise. (kinda like they were dipped in plasti-dip) My struts are GR2s only 2 months old as are the 4 mounts. I had the techs in the shop do those and I don't recall if there was any rubber on the factory springs? None of the coils are close, (about a 2" space between them), so they shouldn't contact one another. Should I just give the springs to my techs and not worry about it? The techs doing it for free because I do his alarms & remote starters. The alignment guy's easier, I just buy him a Sprite or Orange soda. whos_that_guy
shouldnt have a problem, but if it is you can always slide some heater hose over it to stop the noise
stevenva
Had them installed. They did not require any isolation. RIP 96 Legacy 2.2 4EAT lost reverse @ 374,000 miles
