696spd
Good luck getting a replacement, tried everywhere and even Dunlop. Got a bubble from a pothole and now can't get a tire. Doesnt matter if you have road hazard insurance, sorry. What a joke I now have 3 like new tires that are completely useless. The big tire companys like Discount and Tire rack should keep some spares for their customers I would think...no such luck. I will never buy a Dunlop again, it was a nice tire but terrible customer service. I'm out about $750 in one year!!
berkshire40
They sound good to me, I got bubbles on 2 of my graspics from a pot hole and I am rocking them this season. Of course I bought them used with no road hazard.. I would be upset too if I spent all that $ Mod list & photos _

Underdog
order a dunlop 3d it'll be close enough ^ This. The 3D is the replacement to the M3. I replaced my M3s this year with a set of 3Ds and the only way to tell the difference is by inspecting the sidewall lettering. stanjk3
Don't know if they're out in the US yet, but there's also the new Winter Sport 4D http://bestcarsat.com/?p=626 http://www.tyrereviews.co.uk/Tyre/Dunlop/SP-WinterSport-4D.htm Friends don't let friends drink cheap beer. 696spd
I will look into that 3D for sure. Tires are everything they say in the reviews hate to get rid of them.

You want somebody else to keep stock of spare tires, why not buy 5th spare tire yourself. Krzys PS M3 are old tires, are you sure they are not discontinued? 696spd
I found one due to another member just buying some in another post. Don't think I will buy road hazard insurance again.

xenon expert
With such luck go ahead and buy lottery tickets. Krzys And yes. The M3 is an old tire that is replaced by the 3D. 4D is not yet available on our side of the pond.
iNVAR
The 3D's tread pattern looks less aggressive when it comes to snow. For that reason alone, I went with the M3 instead. The 3D also has less reviewed miles on TireRack and costs a bit more. BTW, I'm the member that referred the OP to a site to buy them. www.tirebuyer.com Cheaper than tirerack, quick (and free... at least for me) shipping. krzyss
Can you see compound difference between M3 and 3D? M3 is probably 10+ years old and 3D is probably 4 or 5. Size availability is also much different: http://www.dunloptires.com/dunlop/display_tire.jsp?prodline=DUN+SP+Win+Sport+M2&mrktarea=Winter http://www.dunloptires.com/dunlop/display_tire.jsp?prodline=DUN+Winter+Sport+M3&mrktarea=Winter http://www.dunloptires.com/dunlop/display_tire.jsp?prodline=SP+Winter+Sport+3D&mrktarea=Winter M2 is listed without any sizes. I hope 4D makes to to USA next winter. Krzys
iNVAR
http://forums.nasioc.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1108286 the 3D's are the new version of Dunlop high performance winter tire and has a slightly different tread design than the M3's but, compound and general internal stucture is the same posted by Luke@tirerack People need to realize that newer isn't always better. It frequently is, but not always. I'll stay with the tried and true for now.
krzyss
What was true in 2006 or 2007 may not be true anymore. And newer is just newer, not better, however older usually means that its availability is getting worse than newer stuff. Krzys
