MiniStiGuy
So at Riverside Subaru they have a LGT with its stock rims chromed and I figured I'd take pictures and post them up so that if anyone was just wondering what it'd look like then this will help them know. This again isn't what I like just something to help other's out if they were thinking of doing it. As you can also see that they had installed the rocker panel's in chrome aswell. http://img146.imageshack.us/img146/3576/0703061703mg8.jpg http://img84.imageshack.us/img84/1267/0703061704uq6.jpg http://img146.imageshack.us/img146/331/0703061705fr5.jpg http://img84.imageshack.us/img84/9616/0703061706ov2.jpg Again if this is what you were thinking about doing then there you go. IwannaSportSedan
I think polished might look better... Something about the chrome plating softens the lines of the wheels, and the wheels look "coated", which they are. Polished might get similar brilliance and reflectivity, but keeping the lines of the spoke details... All in all, the effect isn't so bad, though. it looks nice with the red paint, and I can imagine that it works well on red, black, and regal blue, and maybe satin white or Atlantic blue, probably not brilliant silver. MIKEBRAVO
Different. Not bad just different. If you can afford College, you probably don't need to go.
MiniStiGuy
the sales manager chromed 2 sets of stock wheels. Both red cars and both have the chrome strip aswell. Both cars sold in under 2 weeks so I guess people like it. I'm just not a chrome fan so to me its not my cup of tea. OEM HID's Rx330 Retro
pillboy
I happen to have a set I bought from someone on this forum. He wanted aftermarket and I wanted something different than painted silver. The price was right for both of us. His car is silver and mine is Atlantic blue. In my opinion the chrome looks better on darker colors. I like the design of the factory alloy...simple and classic looking. I also like easy to clean. I looked at all the wheels that Discount Tire and Tire Rack had listed for our cars and the only things I liked were $250+ each and no way was I going to spend that kind of money. Eric got rid of the wheels he didn't want anymore and I got something none of the other Legacy's in our metro area have, so we were both happy. I come from the era when aftermarket wheels were all chrome, so it looks "right" to me. I can see how some of you younger guys prefer what is in style now. Everyone likes different stuff and that is what makes us different. Thanks for the pics...they look good on red too. It is still ugly.

zildjiank
^ Not bad... If it comes down to between the funky six spoke and the chrome...put that chrome back on...just doesn't give the car enough justice...
iyalla
I think it looks better with the silver lights from 06 Chrome takes a lot of TLC if you live in the snow belt. Best to get a snow set of wheels.

wheatleya
Chrome looks terrible on almost anything, especially cars that are supposed to have some performance. Chrome only looks good on 300c's or SUV's with 20+ inch rims, and even that looks kind of retarded. Booooooo for whoever chromed their rims. MiniStiGuy
^^^^^ wait a welcome yourself onto the boards by boooo'ing people... Everyone has different style and taste and just because you don't agree with it doesn't mean you have a right to put them down for having there's. I admit I don't like chrome rims but I posted these pictures to give others a chance to see them up close so please refrain from degrading other's views of what's "good looking" to them. Mercury
gfxdave99, man I like that pic of your car (and those rims are nice too), the photo got a real artistic feeling to it, great job, I got myself a new wallpaper Hmm, if you don’t mind, and if you have it in higher resolution, could you send it to me via email? It will be very appreciated, thanks!
MIKEBRAVO
uuggghhh..ew. chrome is tacky on cars... only looks right in bling bling SUVs Wow, now that's ironic. Chrome looks good on some thing that is suppose to get dirty. IMHO the most ghetto mods you can do to a SUV or truck is add leather and chrome. If you can afford College, you probably don't need to go.

wheatleya
It seems that alot of people work pretty hard on this board to get rid of the chrome in the grill, myself included.
jwfoster
Chrome may not be for everyone but I really like it. Any advice on getting a set?
John M
I don't like the chrome grille (gone) but I still like chrome wheels. On certain colors they really stand out and change the look of the entire car. The design of the wheel is just as important as the finish. An ugly wheel will be ugly whether it's chrome or not. Take a nice wheel and add chrome and can be really nice.
