famaya26
Since im replacing my radiatior Im curious to find out what the different pros and cons of each. do you need a specific setup for each? ex: If oli decide tp go to stage 2 do I need to install aluminum or silicone. lets make this a general forum incase people want to know what to get before they buy it. & possibly save cash that they could use, towards oth er mods. famaya26
hoses sorry I should have been more specific. and yes they sell aluminum hoses
BAC5.2
Who sells them? It doesn't matter what you use, but I bet the aluminum "hoses" are shit. Cooling system pressure has nothing to do with power production, so all you are doing is buying bling. No such thing as a "high performance coolant hose" Flip Key Development Thread "Genius may have its limitations, but stupidity is not thus handicapped." - E. famaya26
It doesn't matter. They are radiator hoses. oh ok then. lol well what about other hoses on the car ex: intercooler would siliconr based hoses be better
GTTuner
Yes, intercooler hoses should be oil resistant, (silicone). Those are aluminum tubes, you still need a hose to connect them, sort of pointless IMO.
BAC5.2
You don't really have any intercooler hoses, just one at the throttle body which is OK to leave alone. You CAN replace it with a silicone hose, but you won't be gaining anything by doing that. LosAngelesLGT
Best reason for silicone rad hoses? Appearance. I have them. IMHO they look much better than rubber radiator hoses which is no good reason in particular to upgrade. Id much rather see you buy silicone radiator hoses you dont need than a BBK you dont need
spec.B Dream
Anyone have a favorite coolant hose vendor? After doing multiple turbo swaps, the hoses going to the turbo are getting a bit beat up, and if I'm replacing them, I might as well replace them all with 71k on the ticker.
