Hooking up Keyless Entry

Recommended Posts

I recently purchased a 98 Legacy GT and the previous owner took out the keyless entry. The module is sitting in the glove box. I do not have the remote. What all is required in hooking it up? I am not even sure where to start, as I do not know where the module goes. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

If you pop the panel off above the pedals perhaps the wiring is still there if they just took it out?

Not your car but its kinda the jist

My module is under the steering wheel. Its avital diablo 2 and stock. I dont have the remote so it just sits there taunting me with its little red light. I know that mine has cheaply made remotes that you can and "rewire" the chip, but you have to get that specific remote.

you can actually get to the spot for the module without taking anything apart if you don't mind getting a mite acrobatic. I'll tear myself away from cartoons and take pic later.

my question is why the module was taken out...

used remotes are fairly common on eBay and can be reprogrammed for your car w/o taking to a dealer. I got mine for about $20 shipped.

I thought Alpine made the keyless and Clarion the anti-theft.
