Muleski
I'm about to order a Grimmspeed uppipe. Question as to what to use for gaskets. I have been planning on OEM. Anybody have a strong opinion about another option? Thanks.
Mindspin311
I used new OEM gaskets when I put in my GrimmSpeed UP and have had no issues so far.
RedDawg
doesnt grimmspeed offer some triple-layer gaskets for an extra $10 or so? not sure if they're truly "better" though.
snow05gtRI
the Grimmspeed gaskets look exactly the same as the OEM ones, multi layer steel. GS claims they are 22% thicker (this is NOT the 2x thick ones, the normal OEM look-a-like they claim are 22% thicker). i was going to order their gaskets but they werent in stock when I bought all my grimmspeed stuff, so I bought OEM ones. they seem like the same things, so buy whichever is cheaper/in stock/easier to get. Silverstar
OEM is good stuff. I've had trouble only when I've deviated from them.
hybridandy
I bought a set of Grimmspeed pieces when I did my Grimmspeed uppipe and Cobb downpipe and I was happy with them and haven't had any leaks. I bought the manifold to uppipe, uppipe to turbo and then turbo to downpipe from Grimmspeed. I ended up having to run to Subaru for the downpipe to catback doughnut gasket because I couldn't get the stock one off without destroying it.
