jhawk222
Finally got around to changing my front collars today. As I was tightening the nut the stud broke off. I was thinking of drilling through the stud and possibly welding a nut on the backside so I can use the same type of screw on the other end of the collar?! Any and all ideas are greatly appreciated. captainobvious
I would recommend drilling it out and retapping the hole so you can resuse you rbolt again. Welding IMO isnt the best option
jhawk222
^^Drilling it out would not allow me to reuse the bolt. The way the collar is configured allows for a screw to fasten forward facing mounting point and a nut on the rearward facing mounting point. Once I drill out the screw it forces me to tap for a larger screw or weld the nut on the backside. Decisions, decisions!

jhawk222
Figured I'd change the ball joints while I'm at it. Boy are they rusted in place....nt even the PB is freeing them. And I just changed my passenger side front axle a couple of months back!!!
jhawk222
Actually had a pleasant trip to the stealership! Got a like threaded bolt slightly longer for the swaybar collar. All back together and ready to go!!!
