David E
Gonna finally get around to installing my WRX brakes, but want to clean up and paint the calipers first. Did some searching on the site, did not have any luck findig a thread. Anyone have a step-by-step or advise on what to look out for. Good news is they are obviously off the car, so ought to be able to do a good job.
Zues Marine
hey those calipers were sweet...lol really just use some high temp engine paint and coat the existing high temp engine paint... theyre going to get dirty, so spending forever making them oerfect would be a waste

Zues Marine
but there's some nice high temp paint on there already so im just thinking save some trouble and just scuff up the existing as opposed to thinner, etc..

scootyc
I used the kit from Summit Racing for mine. Its held up perfect for about a year now. No fading or chipping. Kit comes with cleaner, brush and paint for $20 or so IIRC.
I Donated broknindarkagain Posted July 23, 2011 I Donated Share Posted July 23, 2011 I've always used high temp spray paint. If done properly, it looks like a pro job and is very durable. -broknindarkagain My Current Project - Click Here COME AND TAKE IT "The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing." gergeek
I just did this on my subi.. i removed the calipers completely, took them apart (they unbolt into two halves), sanded with a metal brush/grinder wheel, removed all the rust, primed them with Rustoleum and then painted them with two coats of Duplicolor caliper enamel () .. the whole project cost me $20...the calipers need to be painted with high temperature heat of the paint will just burn off
