Hi, I've got a 2005 Australian manual Outback and I was hoping you or anyone else could help me with some advice. You said in the faq that thsi method won't work for the Australian model with climate controls given in centigrade. Just to help me out with how I can get an aux plug on it, why exactly does this solution not work? Is the radio completely different inside? Do you think this alternative method is likely to work: http://snackeyes.blogspot.com.au/2011/06/2005-subaru-outback-aux-in-hack-via.html?

hey my silent cd keeps skipping randomly, figured the cd might of just had a couple of scratches or whatever so I went and made my own which skips even worse that the one that came with it. Anyone know why it skips? Ive tried putting in a regular cd and they work fine no skips...

Its possible that your CD players laser is worn out. They usually start playing up with self recorded CDs before factory pressed ones (they work a bit differently). Try burning a CD at the lowest speed - it sometimes makes them easier to read.

In playing with my bench-top Legacy radio - which I assume is one of the oldest - I've found it's very finicky about which CD it will play and all of them play on my computer or other CD players.

I would try a different media. I've even seen it completely reject one *color* of recordable CD and play a different one fine (same spool, same burn batch - just different color on top).

I was hoping someone may be able to tell me what the black connection is on the back of the p-201un model radio. (Single CD with manual climates) I don't have any pictures of it at the moment though. It is right next to what I believe is a ground connection on the bottom right corner. Not the antenna wire.

I hope not. Does yours? Any phone will get hot if the processor is being taxed while charging, but "really hot" isn't a term I like to hear. My android phone gets very warm if watching video for extended periods, but not what I would call dangerously hot. I wouldn't expect streaming audio or playing music off the internal flash to overly tax the phone, but it's not impossible either.

it charges extremely fast, no complaint there.

it does get hot enough when charging through the aux cable that it's definitely noticeable through my jeans if it's on my lap...and this is just listening to music, not running any other apps etc. i hooked it up to the positive for the cig lighter if that has anything to do with it.

I just wanted to profess my undying love for this mod. I purchased the pro iPod kit and it works great. Thanks to the instructions the installation was very straightforward - especially if you are accustomed to working on computers.

All that is left is to install my iPod cubby mount and all will be good and happy with my GT.

just installed mine. Worked on the first shot. Awesome thanks Jazzy. Only thing is might want to add details about the bro kit with the extra Rca block thing. it gets a little tight but it fits. Once again thanks.

bought one of these on sunday, hopefully it gets here by tomorrow so i can install it this weekend!

Just had a curiosity.. If you left the ribbon cable from the cd player unplugged would you not need the silent cd anymore? and it would only disable the cdplayer right? not the climate controls?
