Subarulegacy713
I've been doing tons of research trying to find a diagram or video where Bank 2, Sensor 1 is located? I have a 1998 Subaru Legacy 2.5GT wagon. Someone please help. Thanks!!
choover1101
I went to Subaru.com parts and noticed they have diagrams for just about everything. http://parts.cleobaysubaru.com/p/Subaru_1998_Legacy25L-AT-4WDGT-Wagon/SENSOR-ASSEMBLY-OXYGEN-------------------FRONT/49232624/22690AA290.html Click the Exhaust.Exhaust&Muffler link and it should highlight the O2 sensors with a + symbol . GT6
I'm pretty new to cars with computers, but: I just replaced one on my niece's 98 Legacy GT 4 door sedan. I found it surprisingly accessible. I just jacked up the car on front, driver's side, and I could reach it. It was, as you would expect, really, really seated. Not wanting to break the bung weld, I sprayed it with Kroil penetrating oil (expensive, but worth it) waited a few hours, and with the sensor socket, using a cheater bar, it broke free pretty easily. I'd recommend, after you jack up the car, reach under with your phone and take a couple of photos to help locate it. Putting the new one in is simple. I used just a little bit of anti-seize on the threads before putting the new one in. From what I've heard, Denso brand O2 sensors are the best to use on the 98. I hope that helps. Brighton96
We only have 2 sensors since the headers/exhaust manifolds connect before the first sensor so we don't have a bank 1/2 The code will read it as such be we don't have it, we only have 2 sensors, one before the cat and one in the cat. So bank 1/2 sensor 1 would be the one before the cat, it's about a 15 min install.
