3D Printing Development Thread

Recommended Posts

I was at the Nebraska Furniture, (that store is amazing in that it takes a full day to see everything, However, their prices are super low for good quality) and looking at their software, since I'm accustomed to a CAD/CAM manipulation of a model. The salesman showed me a cell phone application. He took 10 or 20 pictures of me and in about three or four hours, the 3D printer had digitized and coded my head. That is amazing and if you have a copy of what your wanting to 3D print, that Smart Phone application might be helpful.

Peace Frank

Huge thanks to Street legal for picking up the dash pod development. I've seen some preliminary renders and it is going to be cool!

No problem! I appreciate you letting me help. Once the base design is perfected it will be easy to modify from there with the way I have it.

Much excite :spin:

UPDATE: My printed center 2 gauge pod with garmin ball.

the garmin ball melted while driving in the sun to wicked big meet, with the weight of the gps on it. no big deal, mine was a prototype. i think im gonna scrap the garmin ball idea and just do a double gauge pod instead. i love the gauge placement for my oil pressure gauge, perfect in the lign of sight but not annoying

Hi all,

I'm happy to have stumbled upon this thread! I'm a mechanical design engineer with sufficient experience in solid modeling and 3D printing. The pictures above are a mount I designed and printed using ABS filament for my v2 AP. It's a must have if you don't already have a mount. I've been selling them for $15 shipped if anyone's interested. Please add me as a designer and a printer. I have access to a Airwolf HDx.

Wooo Solidworks! That looks good. What build thickness did you run when you printed it?
