ShrinerMonkey
Performance chips for N/A engines are usually not worth the expense. Performance chips for turbos are worth it because they have boost to work with and can significantly increase power by simply increasing boost... I know I did it on my old 1.8T Passat. Without that modability you are only working with timing, fuel mixture, etc... not a lot to be gained there. I think the performance chips for the V6 Passat saw gains of about 5-10hp and cost over $300... not worth it.
