quick4dr
Hood paint already sucks. And yup my fmic clamps tore it up and it's faded to hell. Looks like I'll rip it out.
vlad_b
I took mine off immediately after getting the car (new). I don't know what function engineers intended for the lining, but the car is just fine without it. I'm on 120K+ miles now, and no paint problems whatsoever. My car is mostly stock though. LosAngelesLGT
Mostly stock or not it sure sounds like the paint has a lot more to fear from environmental issues than engine bay heat. My hood is thermotec wrapped JIC. http://legacygt.com/forums/attachment.php?attachmentid=130479&d=1349310531
boxkita
Having had a engine fire, I've kept mine on for insurance. It seems like cheap insurance. Build my car Boxkita Track days
jshute
Los Angeles I am thinking about doing the same thing with the heat insulation. What size sheet did you need to cover it ?
LosAngelesLGT
If you are not planning on spending a STUPID amount of time fighting it just to do it in one sheet because you are going to show the car a lot do so otherwise... Use two sheets, not one and seam them in the middle for your own sanity.
