stuck686
both have great reviews and the akebono seems to be almost dust free. hwk is $160 shipped and akebono is about $105 shipped. I think i am looking for the best initial bite over and over any thoughts for a DD, no track time? stage 2 speeds! ()
Indiglow
I have used akebono on my jeep and they were awesome, though i've heard hawks are great as well...

Heedz
I like porterfield R4S top of my list for sure. I ran HPS with brembo front stock rears... they were noisy iffy at threshold braking and yeah.... I dont have any experience with akebonos though :/ I've ran HP+ HPS Stoptech Streets and Kragen ceramics on the legacy. Out of those I liked the SS's the most
Wheelbuilder_25
I really liked the HPS on my Outback. Much better bite than oem pads, little dust, no noticeable fade. They made a little more noise, but it was slight, and the other advantages outweighed that by far.
sheppo9
I used to have Hawk's, didn't like them - except they had little dust. Crappy initial/cold stop. Changed to Stoptech Street Perf., much better pad all round - ALOT of dust thou. Good pad from cold to hot. Was either going to get the Akebono's or Dixcel Type M's next, thou the Dixcel's are waaaaay more expensive for what seems to be almost the same pad. LegacyMUN2k6
Hmpft I've used the Powerstop Z16 Evolution Clean Ride pads and found them to be equalin performance to the hawk hps at a fraction of price.
