Actually, just bought this item. Also PM'd boxkita about it. I'll keep the Legacy alive, as I have a Spec B clone! SWP though for the win!

I'm from Vancouver, WA and this is my 06 spec b #203

Welcome man. Is that gas station in downtown, by Clark College? I think I spotted your car the other day around the DOL in downtown.

I'll be sure to keep an eye out for you. Keep an eye out for my Civic

Is it just me or is the hood a different color? Looks like it was replaced and/or poorly repainted.

Looks like bad lighting and a cell phone camera to me. But that console... Was the previous owner a smoker?

The hood and bumper were repainted from an accident by the original owner (Miles at Racecomp Enginering in MD). And no he was not a smoker the car is filthy on the inside with crumbs and personal belongings. I'm hoping that he gets the car detailed before handing the keys off or there might be a deduction in the price.

So I'm looking at the 002/500 spec b in New York and was wondering if anyone knew the history of it or anything?

I know its for sale in the forum classifieds here. You could stalk the owners posts for relevant info.

Yeah I've talked to him a decent bit. He hasn't had the car long. It was his cousins. And prior to that who knows. It's all good. And I was curious to see if there was any way to verify it being 002/500. Because I did read an article that a magazine used that one for their review of spec B's.

Number plate by the shifter would be a good start of verifying it

IANAL, but that's the only way the number can really be 'verified', and even then it's a bit suspect. AFAIK, Subaru did not match specb #'s with VIN's. Look a way back in this thread, there is a member who has (I think) a specb brought back from the dead, but in the process it lost it's number plate. As I recall, he contacted Subaru about it, and they were unable to help.

For the spec b's that have been on this forum since purchase, it may be a little easier due to this thread and it's predecessors.

SpecB.LGT - keep in mind, the low number does not make the car any more valuable then any of the higher numbers.

Also, I see #004 was loaned out to car and driver for a review. Did not see anything about #002 though.

Yeah I realize the low number doesn't really mean anything. But it is cool lol. 001 is better haha. But hey, the first loser is always cool

And it's road and track that used 002.

Using an unlimited carfax account, I was able to track down the history on the 2002 Jaguar xjr 100's. Only 500 made worldwide, turns out I had the first one imported to the US.

Given the SpecB only came with one set of options that year and the titanium paint is an unique color code, flipping thru the small number of Legacy made that year should not be hard to find them all. We know some of them from the "for sale" ads, already.
