Subaru tuners in Milwaukee area

I am looking for a tuner in SE Wisconsin/Milwaukee area. I just picked up a 2005 LGT and have a funky idle and may need to consult somebody with a bit more experience. People on this site have suggested a re-map may clean up a timing flaw on the stock MAP. Thanks.

If you don't mind a trip to the twin cities, nuke from nf performance does great road tunes. A lot of the folks on mnsubaru.com use him, including myself

I am located on the SW side of Waukesha. I see quite a bit of subies here in WI on a daily basis. Not as many as when I was living in Colorado, but close. It would be nice if there was a Subaru specialist (repairs and tuning) in the area. There are a couple of Subaru stealerships in the area (Sommers is the only legit one IMO) that I would love to see have a run for their money.

Check the wisloc thread. There are a few mostly in the west bend area.

I'm in Waukesha. I can log the car and charge a reasonable rate for troubleshooting. I've worked on/tuned dozens of Subarus.

I am currently renting so no garage access unfortunately but I have ties to some local shops

Id maybe need you to take a log of my gt. Glad to see some locals though

Good to hear that there are other active posters that seem to live in the Milwaukee area. I have been a subaru guy since 2000 when I bought my first. Here is the list of what i have owned so far:

1) 1991 legacy ls wagon 4at (died with 200,000 with a cracked head)

2) 1998 legacy outback 5mt (sold with 158,000)

3) 2001 legacy gt ltd 5mt (sold with 160,000)

4) 2006 forester xt 4at (sold with 77,000)

5) 2008 tribeca ltd 4at (current wifes car)

6) 2005 legacy gt ltd 5mt (my current car)

 

They are good in my book. I have never owned an impreza or any older ones. I would love to get an early 90's turbo legacy to use as my winter beater. When I picked up my lgt I almost pulled the trigger on an 04 bmw 328xi, but I stuck to the subies. So far so good.

how do you like the turbos? i unfortunately bought the only year the GT wagon wasnt turbod. 2000

Have you heard of Synergy Tuning up in Port Washington?

 

I've heard nothing but good things about them. I stopped in once to get a feel for things, but haven't needed them to fix anything I couldn't do myself yet

Yep I have heard of synergy. They actually did some work on my car a couple weeks ago. I had them do a stage 1 tune and while there had them replace my original banjo bolt on the oil feed line. As soon as I get my Xmas bonus I am going to have more done. Good dudes for sure!
