whiteknight24
For someone who knows things, I have an 2009 Subaru legacy with no fog lights. I have factory plastic covering the front bumper inserts. I need the whole trim that holds the fog lights and all the wiring. Was wondering if anyone knew where I could find this kit? Or just the fog light housing? I can find the fog lights but I can not find the trim kit. Please help me... - Jamie
im2c0ol
If you want to custom fit a BMW X5 LED fog in there would be nice. It's on sale from TRS right now for $60, I just did mine. I love it, very wide, and great output. http://www.theretrofitsource.com/closeouts/bmw-x5-led-fog-lights.html#.Uxe5FfldVWY 16' Legacy Mods: 55w HID + XB35 5500k, LEDS upgrades, XB Type T Fog, 20mm SB. Varano14
Details please!^^ I've been looking into retro fitting lights from another car. I wonder if you could swap in some 4300k color lights?
im2c0ol
I like X5 LED one less hid kit and less wiring. But it's kinda big not sure if you have the room to play with. Other sugguestion are Audi A6 Hella foglight output is imaging or the Fusion fog are well known, also Micro DE fog. I'll post some output later when I get home. I'll be picking up a second pair to save for the new Legacy and some Superflux DRL custom led. 16' Legacy Mods: 55w HID + XB35 5500k, LEDS upgrades, XB Type T Fog, 20mm SB. Imprezsing04
Any pictures of the lights themselves and your car/fogs/fog surrounds?? The 08 oem fog light output sucks lol
Imprezsing04
Also, to the OP. I have a 2.5i that didnt come with fog lights. I had to buy the oem kit which came with the turn signal stalk, relay, fog light and fog light surround. You replace your turn stalk you have and it gives you a fog light switch in it. And the oem plug for the fog light is taped up in your bumper Similar to this: http://www.brandsport.com/sub-h4510ag040.html?cmp=fwgs2011&gclid=CJ3Ftaethr0CFeZDMgodq38ASA Or you can just the shroud if thats what you are wondering http://www.brandsport.com/sub-57731ag36a.html?cmp=fwgs2011&gclid=CJuj04Othr0CFchFMgod6BgARQ Shop around for the part number, might be cheaper in other places. I just googled it. Someone on here also posted this that I wanted to try http://www.ebay.com/itm/111091691575?ssPageName=STRK:MESINDXX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1436.l2649 but I didnt want to pay the money just to try it out since I have the oem fog kit now. Since you need the shroud, you might be able to buy the ebay one and rig up a switch for it. Just you wont have the relay/oem fog light switch look. But it will also be independent of your driving lights/high beams, etc So you can turn them on by themselves

jkaic
Curious about this too, I've been holding off on getting those X5 LED fog lights from TRS but can't beat the price (cheaper than a used set of oem fog lights!) whiteknight24
are LED's good for fog lights tho? I already have HID 4500k low beams. i want something bright for fogs
im2c0ol
That depends on the color you want as well. As most LED fog are 5000k-5500k temp a bit whiter than OEM 4300k HID, people usually opt for projector retrofit easier for them to color match with their low beam. As far as X5 fog is wider than most projector fog but output still not as good to compare fog + HID. But you'll have a peace of mind when going with LED fog, I'm not saying LED bulbs mostly are junks, and putting LED in and halogen housing doesn't give you good result. It best to customers fit the whole LED foglight assembly. My next project for my 15' Legacy will be swapping out the stock h16 fog with TRS xB LED fog. Still cheaper than the VLED Led kit with the quality that you can trust if you plan to run LED in your current fog without the hassle of retrofitting. 16' Legacy Mods: 55w HID + XB35 5500k, LEDS upgrades, XB Type T Fog, 20mm SB.
