aizen
hi guys decided on these tyres because of the state of our roads(lots and lots of potholes). Wanted 225/50R17 but wasnt available in Michelin. So got the Michelin Latitude tour-225/55R17 So after driving for like 30km have noted the following 1.the imperfections of the roads gone :) 2.the effects of the potholes markedly reduced 3.the grip is very good compared to my previous tyres(Yokohama Ecos 215/45R17) note that I had raised my suspension by high tension springs 4.Managed to change my legacy into an outback.....acceleration feels less confident. the wagon feels slower:redface: here are the pics...feel free to offer your opinions

Max Capacity
Yea the roads here suck too, just not ready to make the jump to bigger sidewalls. Glad to hear the ride improved. With my Koni's set towards firm, the bigger sidewall, it would be nicer... 305,600miles 5/2012 ej257 short block, 8/2011 installed VF52 turbo, @20.8psi, 280whp, 300ftlbs. (SOLD). jayrex
I was just looking at snow tires in this size(225/55R17). Just to confirm, I should not have any issues with fitting these under stock suspension right? 05 LGT Wagon Currently have the standard 225/45-17 on stock LGT wheels. 05 LGT Wagon. Thanks for any reply.
krzyss
If stock means raised suspension then yes. OE size is 215/45R17. Krzyś
M. Schneider
Our USA MY05 Outback XT LTD wagon uses tire size 225/55/17 on a alloy 17"x7"with a 55mm offset wheel. (Production tire & wheel spec's) My understanding is the USA MY05 Legacy GT wagon's 17"x7" wheel is a 48mm offset. With less offset, the 48mm offset 17" rim wouldn't sit as far outside as the 55mm offset 17" rim. The greater offset most likely accounts for the Outback's wheel well / body trim pieces.
