Vf40 to vf46 swap questions

Recommended Posts

So I'm swapping my 05 legacy gt to a vf46. Already swapped the boost pill line from the stock vf40. I read that it was necessary to swap the wastegate actuator from the vf40 onto the vf46 to run it without a tune. Any ideas on the best way to do this? The wastegate actuators are not a direct bolt on swap. I could grind down the mounting plate (that is attached to the vf40 actualtor) a bit, and widen two of the three holes to make it bolt up, but I am also wondering about the precision of the actuator location relative to the gate arm. Is there an exact spot it needs to be? Or as long as it's close it will be ok?

Any info would be greatly appreciated, thanks.

I am currently running the 46 in my wagon. You want to keep the 40 pill set up. There is no need to switch out the actuator arm, and you can run the set up on a stock tune.

Hope that helps.

Awesome. If I can just leave the vf46 actuator how it is, that makes my life a lot easier. Thanks!
