ppettit2005
My car is having some weird issues. It's a 2006 Subaru Legacy GT limited, Automatic, Blue, used to run like a champ. It is not in limp mode, and the check engine light is not on, but it does misfire at 5k+RPM in all gears, and it does 0-60mph in 11 seconds, and it's maximum top speed is 65 mph. The e-brake is not on, and I have no idea what is wrong with it. I recently had it removed from a small ditch that the front wheels got stuck in. I am really unhappy with this and I really need help. Any ideas???
bmx045
sounds like maybe the tranny is to blame...torque converter slipping? No lights are on at all?
ppettit2005
Nope, no lights are on at all. I hope it is not my torque converter, those are expensive.
bmx045
if the car was actually misfiring you would get a light, no doubt, which leads me to believe the tranny is bucking/shuddering making it feel like a misfire. This could be either the clutches inside the tranny or the TC...
joeblow
As always check for boost leaks too. However, a boost leak that causes that many problems would probably throw a code for the bank being too rich. So, I would have to agree that its probably a tranny issue. Have a dealership or transmission shop check it out. It's cool; I'm with the band
joedirtae09
are you using 93 octane gas?
Kaptan
^LOL...I don't think using regular gas would cause the symptoms the OP is having
ppettit2005
spent all day with the car at the dealership. Turbo is blown.
Kaptan
Hopefully the short block is fine. Usually turbo failures lead to short block failures within hundreds of miles.
