ragman
Drive less city miles and fill it with Premium gas
Mega Users seabass07 Posted January 19, 2012 Mega Users Share Posted January 19, 2012 Definitely stick with the premium gas! For mpg, check your tire pressure. Maybe try 40/38psi or even little higher and clean your maf sensor.

proflatlander15
Hey there neighbor! I'm in Plainville. To stay on topic, drive on the highway more and make sure your tires are inflated.
RichardKleszcz
I did notice that my mpg has gone down and my tire pressure light came on today thanks
Nedrex
It has been pretty darned cold out lately... The ecu will dump more fuel with a colder intake charge of course. That combined with a heavy right foot and low tire pressure is definitely a recipe for poor gas mileage.
Mega Users paintpollz Posted January 20, 2012 Mega Users Share Posted January 20, 2012 Hey there neighbor! I'm in Plainville. To stay on topic, drive on the highway more and make sure your tires are inflated. I'm in west Hartford. I used to fly out of Robertson airport. I have a white lgt with a Thule on it. Not many around. 15 mpg average is pretty bad unless u are constanty boosting it. My advice has already been mentioned. It will cost u more money to run regular gas "Remember Danny - Two wrongs don't make a right but three rights make a left."
CTATV
go stage 3 I stomp on mine all the time, have a 6 speed swap, and stage 3 power on 106k mile car and I still get better mpg than that...

proflatlander15
~$1500 if you buy used parts? You need a full turboback, new turbo, and a tune minimum. Probably an aftermarket TMIC or FMIC as well. Boost control accessories go well at any stage too (ECBS, AVO actuator).
Mega Users paintpollz Posted January 20, 2012 Mega Users Share Posted January 20, 2012 i tought you didnt need full TB. Someone was telling me about ppl that run the stock CBE at like 400whp. TMIC of FMIC is a must to make it worth the stage 3. Minimum is turbo, fuel pump, and injectors I believe, someone correct me if I'm wrong. Thatd be one weak stage 3, and youd be clutch slippin all over the place. "Remember Danny - Two wrongs don't make a right but three rights make a left." SSpeed
stock mufflers maybe, but that mid/Y-pipe isn't ideal for that sort of power.. $1500 would be impressive for a reliable stage 3..
boymk123
your lucky to get 15mpg with winter gas.

proflatlander15
Yeah ok, I agree with you guys. I left out pump and injectors because you could run a VF52 or 16g on stock fueling if you wanted to. And true, a a catback it not needed.
Mega Users seabass07 Posted January 20, 2012 Mega Users Share Posted January 20, 2012 I doubt you'd get better mpg with a 16g. You'd still be in boost on the highway.
johnAWD
Man - that mileage stinks. My stage stfu car gets 22-23 mpg when not I'm driving like I hate the car. However winter blended gas and that bet is off.
Heedz
stock mufflers maybe, but that mid/Y-pipe isn't ideal for that sort of power.. $1500 would be impressive for a reliable stage 3.. The mid and y flow enough. makes a difference of possibly 1-3whp on a low reading dyno. failure on this board has a fully built motor on stock cbe. no tonly that..... since it sso damn quiet you don't expect that thing to take off. SSpeed
That I don't believe.... the figures for running stock mufflers showed about a 6hp/20tq loss with equal days, as shown by dyno...

minuccims
I was wondering what i should do to try getting better MPG for my 07 legacy gt and i was wondering if getting mid grade gas would be bad for the engine Winter gas sucks, cold temps => richer 1) Had better mpg Stage I protune than stock. 2) Get a 5th gen. Improve performance and mileage with changes to heads, pistons, cam timing (low end HP/TQ), valve spring, turbo placement, bigger TMIC, spark plug, exhaust AVCS, increased oil flow rate, variable AC compressor ...
