Pawlwawl06
I was told today at Merchant's Tire that due to the style of wheel I have (Rota G-force), it is nearly impossible to perfectly balance it. Has anyone else had problems like this with their G-force wheels? I have been to two different shops, and I still have a slight vibration in the wheel from 60mph up. Wheels are brand new 17x8s with 235/40/17 Sumitomo HTRz 2s. I am stumped.
Pawlwawl06
Would I need any concentric rings for these wheels? I wouldn't think so since the offset is +48mm and the hube bore is 56.1mm....
Th3Franz
I have run the same wheels for years with no problems. Find a different shop imo. Only other thing I can recommend is make sure you torque your wheels with a torque wrench when they are on the car. I am very OCD about that and it is very important. I think stock torque spec is 72 ft lbs. but I run 85 ft lbs. -Franz The end of a Legacy http://www.youtube.com/th3franz
Pawlwawl06
^Thanks, I found a few shops with a Road Force Balancer, ill try that soon. Funny thing though, today I didn't notice any vibrations on my way to work, and I pushed it up to about 85MPH.
phoenix96
My 18x8.5s seem fine; I haven't noticed any vibration. I torqued them to 85ft-lbs like Th3Franz. phoenix96 2006 Legacy GT Ltd · 2011 Outback 3.6R Ltd · 1992 SVX 2006 Outback 3.0R VDC · 2009 Forester 2.5X 2002 Outback VDC · 1996 Outback 2.5L · 1986 GL-
