762x39
The ever so famous cylinder 4 misfire. I am having a debilitating misfire on #4 under boosted acceleration. It does not misfire under normal acceleration or idle. Plugs are new. I swapped injectors 2 and 4 and the misfire did not follow. I tried a brand new coil pack. No luck. Are there any other possible causes of this misfire or am I completely screwed?
KRM
Any oil loss at all? Take it to a indipendant subaru shop and have a comp/leak down done. Start there before you make any final decision

Start there before you make any final decision X1,000 but in all seriousness, best advice right here.My engine had a misfire in #4 cylinder and i thought the same as u, took it to a good Subaru shop and found out the engine was fine, all good on the compression test for me, since then, i changed the spark plugs and also made sure im not using crappy fuel, and for the last 4 months i haven't seen any signs of misfire! starionesir
Have a leak down done to check for a valve issue and general engine health. You could have a burnt valve which wouldn't be uncommon. Still a rather large repair but cheaper then a new short block.
