Tehnation
I just installed my downpipe, but the middle bracket on my car did not line up with bracket on pipe. Is this common? Anyone know a simple solution or is my pipe just the retarded one in batch.
Moderators BarManBean Posted March 15, 2013 Moderators Share Posted March 15, 2013 Do you have a 5MT? Sounds like the downpipe might be for a 5EAT. It would still fit your 5MT, but that bracket would not be in the correct spot. Tehnation
First Subaru still have a lot to learn, wouldn't have even realized if I didn't get this gut feeling to make sure. Ignorance is BLISS!!! I was so happy until people answered my question.
LosAngelesLGT
Don't be too hard on yourself. Its always a good idea to confirm fitment of any non oem part before applying wrap, painting, etc. We all still have a lot to learn.
Tehnation
i'll probably try and unbolt the bracket from the tranny and adjust it with some welding.... seems like the easiest fix.

Tehnation
Still no word from importimageracing..... Not really a big fan of them at this point. I'll give it some more time before I make a post about their amazing service.
Nrw
Not the first time I've heard that about IIR, nor the first time I've seen a CNT pipe with fitment issues.Best of luck
mmmmspecb
IDK, my CNT downpipe fit perfect. That is crazy how far off that is... I assume you have no wiggle room to try and finess that onto the hook? That sucks.
WaspGT
I ran into the same problem... I got sick of trying to explain my situation to non-English speaking customer support, so I made a custom arm for mine so it bolts up nicely. Next time i'm under there i'll snap a pic and throw it up here:)
wireless007
Lets see some pics! I have my CNT all wrapped and ready for Install but I want a plan B if there are fitment issues. Remember that IIR doesn't produce the downpipe, they just supply it from ERZ. IIR has always been a great supplier for me with unbeatable prices. onsit
I purchased a mt CNT downpipe from a local forum member, to install on my WRX. I had a similar issue. I got around it by using wire to wrap around the two holes. It is not a clean install, and i'm sure its bad for the turbo flange to have all that weight hanging on it.
