arikira
Just bought a 1996 Legacy GT with 84,000 miles. Apparently it had sat around for quite a while (which is why it has so few miles). Wondering what I should do to get the thing in tip top shape. I am primarily interested in minimizing risk of blown head gaskets and maximizing fuel economy (without sacrificing power). All ideas welcome. Thanks!!!
subikid90
Welcome! Start with checking all of the fluids like oil, tranny and rear diff. A new air filter wouldn't hurt either and helps the gas mileage. You just have to watch the temp gauge to prevent the blown head gasket. I know that there's more but this would be a good start. -Subikid90 1997 Legacy GT 5spd & EJ251 w/EJ25D heads ~10.5CR 1998 Legacy GT Limited waiting for EJ22T hybrid swap
