caramall2
I know there are a lot of threads like this, but wanted a few opinions on this. Usually I get a set of summer performance tires but money's tight so I need to just get an ultra performance all season :-( I have 17x8 rims. Would you go 215/45/17 or 225/45/17? Some pot holes but not that bad. I figure 225 might be a little wider, stiffer sidewall (load rating) but also thicker sidewall (not that great for perf). I'd love to go with 235/40/17 but very hard to find in all season. Thanks.
Bolksey85
225 without a doubt. I will NEVER go back to a 215. The ride is 100x better, it looks more appropriate and tire selection is still fantastic.
Moderators BarManBean Posted January 14, 2014 Moderators Share Posted January 14, 2014 You know the new WRX tires seem to be decent from what I can gather--I think they're 235/45r17s. You could probably try to source a used set of those for cheap. "Bullet-proof" your OEM TMIC! <<Buy your kit here>> Not currently in stock

dspurgin22
I just put on some Continental DWS's 225/45's on a 8 inch rim and am very happy with it. Rides very nice and handles well. This is my second set of DWS's and for 700 brand new from discount/american tire with lifetime free replacement, cant complain to much. http://farm8.staticflickr.com/7325/12020124364_53234bbd3f_b.jpg It does have a very slight stretch to it. I can get a better picture of that if you want it.
