Simple Fix for Kids & Crumbs

Recommended Posts

So, it would drive me bananas when my 4.5 year old son would chow down on crunchy granola bars or any other crumby snack and crumbs would fly all over the back seat leatherhttp://legacygt.com/forums/images/icons/icon9.gif.

Well, the crumbs met their match when I picked up couple little bathroom rugs (21"x34") from Sears and laid them across the back seat. They're black and blend in well enough with the leather and easily catch anything he can drophttp://legacygt.com/forums/images/icons/icon10.gif. Now instead of feeling compelled to vacuum the back seat after any roadtrip, I just have to shake out these rugs. They also have a rubbery non-skid backing so they easily stay in place on top of the leatherhttp://legacygt.com/forums/images/icons/icon14.gif.

D'OH - I just posted this and realized it would be more fitting in the Detailing, Maintenance, and Long-term care thread. I don't know how to move it now, though.

Same here. I don't even go grocery shopping in the legacy. lol I do have a towel that goes under and behind my son's car seat though. Those things can leave marks on the leather and that ain't good. The bath mat is a really good idea though. I'm going to get me one of those. Thanks for the tip!

One thing about bath mats - try to get one that doesn't have a rubber backing. I had some cheap ones from Target and they ended up staining my bathroom floor tiles! Can't imagine what they would do to car seats (especially in hot weather)

I'll never buy bath mats with rubber backing ever again. Finding ones without rubber is a tad difficult. I was lucky I found one, those things almost end up being like a rug.
