ericgu
I'm replacing the factory head unit with a single-din unit on my 2007 outback. I see that both metra and scosche make trim units - any recommendations on which one is better. Also, any recommendations on one that can give me a flat dash; I'm not a big fan of the little pockets you get when you put a single-din in a double-din opening. mr_audio
Go to metraonline.com and take a look at their kits. Most kits are basic and all the same. If it has the pocket, which most single din adapters do, then have a place custom make a kit. At my work we do that all the time. We even put ipads and tablets in the dash. SVXdc
SonicElectronix has larger pictures of the kits uninstalled... Metra 99-8901 (1-DIN only -- the little half-size pocket is not removable) Scosche SU2025 (1- or 2-DIN with optional pocket) Those only work for Legacys/Outbacks with manual A/C controls. If you have automatic controls, those are integrated into your factory radio. See this thread or search for "cubby" installs.

Gire
No. No American company made a complex kit for this small market car. JDM only or truly custom.
