Loscaldazar
I've already done a search on this, and all I really came up with is that these are a pain for people who install the front brake pads the first time (guess where I am right now....). I've figured out how to get the brake pads in properly with the return springs, but there are two different slots to put the return springs in. Which one do I use? Does it really even matter? Thanks! Max Capacity
IMO, doesn't matter. I have my brakes apart every year, never noticed what your talking about. I know there is a metal tab that sticks out/up off the pad. I find it easier to remove the two 24mm socket bolts and split the caliper from the bracket , put the pads in the bracket, then slip the caliper over the pads. I painted mine last Saturday. http://i185.photobucket.com/albums/x40/92Si/DSCN5010.jpg 305,600miles 5/2012 ej257 short block, 8/2011 installed VF52 turbo, @20.8psi, 280whp, 300ftlbs. (SOLD). CHECK your oil, these cars use it. Engine Build - Click Here

EJ25subie05
the metal piece on the pad (squeaker or whatever its called) or the metal holders that hold the pads?
underground000
There shouldn't be a slot for the return spring. The tab with the bent end sits on the caliper mount not inside Then square tab that's pretty thick is the squeal tab you don't touch that 5eat downshift rev match:) Powder coated wheels: completed:)
