LGT Pad Return Spring?

I've already done a search on this, and all I really came up with is that these are a pain for people who install the front brake pads the first time (guess where I am right now....). I've figured out how to get the brake pads in properly with the return springs, but there are two different slots to put the return springs in. Which one do I use? Does it really even matter?

Thanks!

IMO, doesn't matter. I have my brakes apart every year, never noticed what your talking about.

I know there is a metal tab that sticks out/up off the pad.

I find it easier to remove the two 24mm socket bolts and split the caliper from the bracket , put the pads in the bracket, then slip the caliper over the pads.

I painted mine last Saturday.

Could you get a shot of how you have the metal piece installed then?
